Bob's Grocery List

The Case

Bob is built in a Peli case. The 1400 to be precise. If you do not have one laying around, buy one without foam.

Electronical Components

The biggest expenses are going to be the electronic components. Please order these exact parts so everything fits in BOB. You may click the Check boxes to keep an overview.

Logilink Wireless Keypad

The size of this numpad is very important to get right. We advise the Wireless ID0120 version but the wired ID0184 also fits, though the double '00' key was annoying in our testing.

Stream Deck XL module

The stream deck XL is by far the most useful module in BOB, note we're using the module, not the plastic desktop version. The USB-C connection is fragile, be careful with it.

Intech Studio Grid Series 3 EF 44 fader module

Any intech module will fit in BOB, through testing we found the EF44 to work best. If you bought some other ones previously, you can use those as well. These require specific settings to work well, follow the build guide to set these up.
Order 2 of these.

Nexus V-mount Battery 14.4V/12.8AH/184WH

We're using every USB out and input on this unit, the size clears the intech faders by a couple of milimeters and the weight counterbalances the ipad in the lid. It's quite important to buy this exact model. If you have a v-lock laying around with similar specs, you can always try that one out before ordering this one.

UGREEN Nexode 100W USB C charger

Any 100w Charger will do, but this one fits neatly in the case. The holes in the yellow cable management plate are made for this unit. This is a widely available charger, available worldwide in your local voltage and plug.

HangTon D-Tap to USB-C Power Adapter

D-Tap 12v to USB-C 100w adapter. We tried others but this one doesn't get as hot.

Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX, 3-Pin Premium Cooling Fan (40mm, Brown)

A silent fan to extract hot air, mostly generated whilest charging the battery. All needed cables and screws are provided in this kit. You will need to solder a male D-tap connector to the cable.

Cables, hubs, bits and bobs.

We recommend using high quality USB cables to connect all your peripherals. For the 1ste gen Cerise owners/users, some trial and error might be required as these units are notoriously picky about their cables and hubs. If you're in the market for a transmitter we recommend using another Belgian product, the Steady Node.

NOVOO 7 in 1 USB C hub

Any hub will do but we found it challenging to find  one with 4 USB ports, an RJ45 connection and 100w PD. This one has it all. If you're looking for another one, please note that these ports are the minimum required.

D-Tap plugs male & female

You will need to solder a couple of D-Tap plugs to cables. In total 3 male plugs will be used and one female. I used the following.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08NP39VZD

D-tap Splitter 1 to 3

Any Splitter will do but I suggest getting one with a horizontal layout.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08TWNJHF8

19mm 12V power button

This button turns the power from your V-Lock battery on and off, Try finding one with detachable cables and 10 a if possible, though mine is 5A and hasn't been an issue.

Loose USB C cables

You will need the following type of USB cables :

1x 20cm Double male USB C cable with a 90° connector to the side and a 90° angle through the width. This combination can be hard to find, so an extender adapter is the second  best option.
This cables will go from our charger to the battery USB C input.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CC59T7QX
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CY1Y3TSQ

1x 30cm Double male USB C cable.
This one goes from the Hub to the USB C port on the top plate.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0FHWV5YWW

1x 50 cm Male to female USB C extension cable.
This one extends the hub to the iPad.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B09ZDVC1VM

1x 50 cm Double male USB C cable, one side 90°
This one goes from the Dtap Power adapter to the HUB.
Important to have at least a 100w rating.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CC5744VD

2x USB C to USB A cables, minimum 20cm, longer makes it easier to take off the top plate of BOB.
For the intech module you will need a 90 angle to the side, or even better downwards as the fit is quite tight. The Stream deck Module has enough space for any USB C To USB A cable, no angles required.

These are exemples of what we're looking for but i used a bunch of Cables from my RatPac recievers, which were perfect.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B000LJDHFU

Short extension Cable

We cut off the male plug of this cable and attach it to the True Con power input. But you can just take a 30cm cable and add a female plug on it.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CXH51L4W

Short Ethernet cable

This cable goes from the RJ45 port on the back to the USB hub inside of the case. Find a short one and flexible if possible. These cables are fragile, avoid twisting them too much.
